MATSUMURA-GUMI PROFILE

We started Matsumura-gumi to encourage sufferers of the Great Hanshin Earthquake from which the death over 6000 in 1995.


Our style of playing is unique-we compose our music combining instruments from all over the world like marimba, ocarina and South American folklore music with Japanese drums.

Moreover, we try to collaborate with various kinds of music like Jazz, classical music, Chinese ethnic music and folk dances.
Through these performances, we　enchant our audience and have earned distinguished review not only in Japan, but also all over the world.
We endeavour to send the message "music does not know national boarders," "there is one world" to the world by mixing the music all over the world based on Japanese drum.
